My husband has a serious "need for speed"! It freaks me out a bit that his true passion is ski racing. Not only is it dangerous, but expensive! These "bad boys" are only one pair from his large "arsenal of weapons". The one good thing about this hobby of his....he really can't complain about my scrappy obsession. Right!? ; )

Today I stumbled on, "the word", instead of the photo for a change.
I thought and thought...and thought more about what it meant to me... Special. My mind was in over drive all day about it. I took tons of pictures, but none were right. I don't mean in a photography since of the word, but what it represented to me. Now don't get me wrong, my family and my home are my world, but so cliche', right!?
As I was saying good night to my daughter, I was totally taken off guard by this scene. I don't know when she did it, but next to her bed was: a trophy plate her Daddy won "for her", a night light of mine when I was little (the angel), a pin her grandmother gave her at Christmas and a few other "treasures" she's collected. All special to her .
Now, I can sleep ; )

I struggled today! This was about all I could come up with.
We have an apple tree in our side yard that the birds and squirrles feast on all winter. Notice the wound on his face? The other day he had a big snack, passed out on the branch and then fell off, lol! All this happened while I was talking on the phone. I'm convinced this guy is getting drunk off the fermented apples! I couldn't stop laughing, but after zooming in on his poor little face... I'm feeling badly for the little boozer ; )

My heart is breaking for my sweet girl. After a long battle
with pneumonia just before Christmas, she woke up today
with a fever and was diagnosed with strep. The poor thing
is so afraid now she'll be sick "forever". She can't catch a break : (
*(a tear is rolling off her nose, but you can't see it in this out of focus shot. I didn't have the heart to try and take any more!)

A shot of my daughter, trying to "catch up" on homework.
Poor thing was ill the week before Christmas break with pneumonia. Two weeks on holiday in addition to a week of illness is an eternity for a six year old!
She went to school fearing she'd "forgotten" how to write and that "no one would remember" her. It broke my heart when she told me that was why she had had a "belly ache" these past few days : (
And I've been complaining how hard it is to get back in the routine!
