When I got home from my trip, I found at least half dozen of these sweet little notes all around the house. My kindergartner had a very difficult time having me away : (

I wish....
I wish I felt as serne as this picture looks!! I can't believe I'm heading home already. I am worried sick about my father and his up hill climb!
I just wish I could put my home life on hold, so I could see this all the way through!
To be there for him when he really wakes up.
For my step mom who is refusing to leave the hospital "until he does".
To stay on top of the staff and make sure they take good care of my dad!!!
Ugh! I wish I wasn't a nurse.
I wish I didn't know all the things that could go wrong.
I wish this week was over already!!

I can't even put into words the relief I have knowing my father's surgery was a success!! I know he has a long road to recovery, but he is strong and has so many of us pulling for him!! My step mother gave each of us who was at the hospital one of these little hearts and asked us to "hold it close". It has been in my pocket ever since and will stay there until my father is discharged home, safe and sound. Even though he is miles away, this little heart, some how, makes me feel closer to him.

I'm a spiritual person, but I'll be honest...I don't get to church very often. On this day, it seemed like a good idea!! Tomorrow at 8:00 A.M. my father is going in for open heart surgery.

I was not at all psyched to have to be jumping on one of these, just 24 hours after hearing the horrible news about the crash in Bflo.
